3B bending jig

3B bending jig

The 3B bending fixture was developed to expand the portfolio of mechanical tests used to build a material damage model. The proposed fixture does not conform to the standard, but is used to measure the damage value of the material for the plane strain condition in bending. The fixture has its own independent force gauge to measure the force during the test. The fixture is inserted into the testing machine and fitted with a DIC system. The testing machine provides controlled movement of the fixture and the DIC system is used for test evaluation. The biggest advantage of the fixture is the fixed position of the specimen during bending in the crack formation area.

Parameters

  • The jig is designed for universal testing machines
  • Plan size 300x520 mm (w x d)
  • Strain measurement by DIC system
  • Interchangeable mandrel
  • Working stroke 60mm
  • Load up to 10 kN
  • Speed 0.05 -100 mm/min

Other

  • The jig allows for changing of the bending edge and supports - different radius sizes

The functional sample with internal designation VGF2000016 was created as part of an internal research project. This project entitled "IVP2006 Advanced Testing and Material Model Development" was funded by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT).
